Cinematic grunge live video from Coals' "Primabalerina Tour 2024". Featuring dynamic editing, analog CRT effects, and the visualization of a melancholic atmosphere.
This project holds special personal meaning for me, as it was one of my first concert shoots after moving to Poland. Working with the band Coals during their "Primabalerina Tour 2024" required more than just recording a performance; I needed to convey the unique magic and melancholy that I associate with their music. To make the video truly distinctive, the musical accompaniment (a custom remix) was specially prepared by TAZASHO, which set the perfect rhythm for the visuals.
Video Production
Despite feeling highly anxious about working in a new country, the main challenge of the project lay in the complex editing and tight deadlines. The video encompassed several songs combined into a single remix. My task was to ensure the viewer felt every track change: I individually tailored the editing rhythm and color palette for each section. To emphasize the melancholic and magical vibe, I gave the imagery a slightly surreal look, incorporating multicolored typography. To achieve an authentic grunge texture, I ran some of the footage through a real CRT screen. The result was a highly dynamic, cinematic video that perfectly reflects my vision of Coals' music.
